Unloaded the kiln this morning...Oh happiness, oh joy...
such pretty blues, greens, and grays...
But then all of a sudden this...
Dog poop brown. I don't even know what to say. How did I choose this color and then glaze this many pieces with it? Sad ending to the kiln unload I must say. I'm going to have to go look and see what color this is (on the jar) 'cause I'm pretty sure it didn't say dog poop brown!
Dog poop brown... lol I had a very similar experience. I'm willing to bet this glaze is a shino glaze. Mine was Mayco Shino in the stoneware series and it looked just like this. It doesn't get used much anymore.. lol
ReplyDeleteAside from the name, I like the color! The pieces look great!
ReplyDeleteI like the color, too. Happy New Year to you.
ReplyDeleteMary, as the mother of three Rottweilers that do not get turned out into the back yard to poop but rather get walked twice a day on leash which means I pick up the poop which further means that I am a relative expert on dog poop - I can tell you that these do not look anything even remotely like dog poop. They are beautiful. Perhaps you will like them better when fall comes.
ReplyDeleteLOL Jean! I hope I like them better in the fall - I couldn't like them less, right?
Deleteyou are so funny. so what color was it?
ReplyDeleteIt's a shino and just as ugly as it can be!
